Hi

I have been working in my father’s family-run company since I completed collage. For a few days ago, I check out some organizations and events that could help us to improve our leadership. I found an organization called FBA (Family Business Australia). I just want to ask if someone has been or is a member of the organization? And that will recommend a membership?

Thanks

Hi Harker,

I decided to share my own experience because I am a member of FBA. My family has been running its own business for a couple of years. At the beginning we faced some problems that cost us time and money because we lacked professional advice. We came across Family Business Australia and decided to join. After becoming a member, they provided us with a great support and advice how to run our business successfully and effectyively. If your family runs a business and are not sure how to get your business on a right track, or need any kind of advice, I strongly recommend you to join FBA!
Thanks to the FBA's great range of support and education programs, our family business has been enjoying prosperity and growth, now having employed 50 people!

Hi all,

Im replying because Im a manager in my famaily's company. thanks for mentioning FBA, even though we've been running our family's business for couple of years, until now I haven't heard of FBA. I looked at their website and like what they so we decided to join because I think it'll benefit us a lot and it will be very usueful to interact and share experience with other family businesses. Are there any other businesses who have an experience of being a FBA member?

Thanks :)

Hi Lauren,
I have a business with my two sons in Australia and we joined Family Business Australia 2 years ago. At the beginning of our business, we encountered a lot of difficulties, due to the lack of professional advices. That's why we decided to joined FBA. This not-for-profit, member-based organization was very helpful for us. It gave us access to events, mentor possibilities and advisers on strategy. Also, by sharing an experience through other FBA members, we avoid many mistakes in leading our family business. That's why I strongly encourage any family involved in a family business to join FBA. If anybody is interested, you can check their websites at http://www.fambiz.org.au/
